The role involves working in three areas: i) building on the project pipeline, ii) managing the projects in the current pipeline and iii) managing an existing Joint development agreement.
The first task involves proactively identifying and securing wind or solar development opportunities (including repowering) in the country that will allow Falck to add installed capacity over the next 3-4 years and provide options for further pipeline in the future;
The second task involves taking ownership of and managing the development of the assigned projects within budget from any stage to get them to a ready to build state, including dealing with any appeal process, managing landowners and negotiating land option/lease agreements with or without land agents and discharge of relevant planning conditions;
Manage JDAs with a wind & solar developer ensuring project risks are managed, budgeting is carried out appropriately and an economic buildable project achieves consent at the earliest opportunity;
A great attention to sustainability will be required during the development activites.
Discussing aviation solutions and grid agreements for the projects, carrying out development engagements e.g. attending Council meetings, holding public or community meetings.
Coordinate project team (internal & external) activities insuring key milestones are met for the above tasks.
Person may also need to assist M&A team in carrying out due diligence on targets/projects. Work on acquired targets with other teams as necessary;
Provide responses and any feedback on consultations being carried out.
Carry out other “ad-hoc” activities required to achieve Company’s objectives; be proactive in meeting Group objectives. Engage in industry consultations so the company can act on new trends; Analysis of regulation and risks & presenting this;
To carry out any internal management reporting required.
Ensuring health & safety standards are developed, maintained, and adhere to the group’s HSSE policy requirements, including the management of external consultants
University Degree in Engineering/Sciences
At least 5-6 years of experience in Project Management
A thorough understanding of the commercial/environmental/regulatory challenges facing all stages of wind and solar project development and the renewable energy industry
appropriate skills to negotiate and deal with people is required
Understanding of Wind & solar project development process
Experience of land/deal negotiations
Public relations experience/good presentation skills
Having seen a project through an appeal or to a consent
Mitigating project risks
Hosting expertise to deliver on time and prioritise
Experience in sustaibaility approaches is appreciated
