The Role

You’ll sell capital and financed CHP solutions to the Irish market. Also upsell Centrica Distributed Energy capabilities such as Net Zero Service, Energy Insights, EV solutions, Heat pumps, Solar, Energy, Battery. You’ll develop sector plan and targeting opportunities, representing the business at events such as trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events, whilst developing relationship and representing CBS to key consultants.

Other Accountabilities:

  • Start the sales process with clients reaching the appropriate level of contacts within organisations (e.g. FD and CEO) and establish buy in
  • Provide innovative solutions to influence customer buying habits and leverage Centrica capability to ensure maximum value is generated from deals
  • Develop relationships at the ‘C’ level, understand the customer drivers, engage with relevant stakeholders and establish the required credibility to influence procurement and financial decisions
  • Be the main CBS interface with the customer and provide solid support to internal support teams to drive clear and tangible progress from concept design through to Project Development Agreement/Heads of Terms, Solution Development and Contract Close, ensuring at each stage deals are optimally structured to meet both customer and Centrica requirements
  • Work closely with Legal and Commercial to support the development of bespoke contractual documentation for the delivery of projects
  • Maintain a Salesforce database of pipeline opportunities and contract wins, providing regular KPI reports and sales forecasts to the Senior Management Team
  • Provide activity reports using the tools available to keep customer activity up to date – including accurate pipelines and forecasts, meeting activity, feedback on tenders and logging of account plans and opportunity plans
  • Proactively contribute to customer insight sessions and Joint Working Groups
  • Develop strong relationships with other parts of UK&I and global teams
  • Support your sales colleagues with the vetting and development of commercial opportunities, feeding the outcomes into the relevant business reviews
  • Provide competitor and market intelligence to influence the strategy and tactical position of CBS UK&I

Relevant Skills and Experience

  • A number of years’ experience of selling B2B in the energy sector, specific CHP solution sales would be beneficial
  • Energy services expert with significant experience of providing onsite generation strategies to end customers
  • Experience, knowledge and existing relationships with key consultants a distinct advantage
  • Experience of developing innovative solutions through partnership working is key
  • Demonstrable knowledge of modelling of sales Gross/Net Margins
  • Strong technical and commercial skills in energy efficient systems with direct experience of delivering sales of energy saving projects
  • Knowledge of project financing offerings and ability to decipher complex models
  • Detailed knowledge of the range of products and services offered by CBS
  • Consultative selling techniques to listen and respond to customer needs
  • Solid IT skills to manipulate data and take advantage of systems that assist the Sales team to manage and deliver customer relationships and propositions
  • Ability to review and understand P&IDs, Schematics and Block cable diagrams
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to summarise complex matters and effectively communicate and influence a range of audiences
  • Strategic thinker that can assess opportunities against the bigger picture and identifying potential risks/opportunities
  • Confidence and credibility with sufficient presence to influence the decisions of senior management and the direction of the business
  • Ability to juggle conflicting demands and deliver work on-time every-time to the highest possible standards
  • Ability to articulate complex energy-saving solutions including costs and savings calculations
