Your tasks:

  • Structuring and pricing physical/financial commodity transactions of a complex and “non-standard” nature (e.g. Renewable Power Purchase Agreement´s, flexible power and gas offtake agreements, gas storages and other transaction structures with embedded derivatives);
  • Jointly with the Senior team members Identify, structure and capture the commercial opportunities in existing and new markets for E.ON in a variety of energy commodities (electricity, gas, renewables, and cross-commodities);
  • Work closely with E.ON's portfolio management departments (central and regional) to understand values and risks associated with E.ON`s commodity portfolio`s and to design transactions to preserve and grow the value of our portfolio under management;
  • Collaborate with other E.ON departments to design and develop financial and derivative valuation models, communicate valuation results to senior originators and other stakeholders;
  • Support Senior Originators and Traders to identify and quantify both market and non-market risks. Jointly develop hedging and risk mitigation strategies and pro-actively support management of positions stemming from the transactions;
  • Liaise and steer internal stakeholders (Risk, Portfolio Strategy, Finance, Contract/Legal, etc.) in structuring, pricing, assessment, and approval of structured transactions.

Your profile:

  • University degree in economics, econometrics, finance, mathematics, physics, or engineering;
  • Strong technical and quantitative skills;
  • Excellent understanding of option pricing theories and tools. Experience in their application to physical energy assets and structured transactions highly appreciated;
  • Able to develop pricing tools for market-based valuation of flexible power offtakes, power plants, gas storages, cross-border capacities, and other physical energy assets;
  • Experience in structuring and pricing of physical and financial transactions is appreciated;
  • Knowledge of financial statements, credit analysis, and risk management practices is appreciated;
  • Familiarity with master trade agreements, such as EFET and ISDA is an advantage;
  • Persistence and self-motivated individual, able to excel in an unstructured environment;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong team player who is able to liaise and steer internal stakeholders;
  • Fluency in English is required; preferably able to speak additional European languages.
