Director of ClimateBright (Decarbonization Technologies)

You will be responsible for deploying B&W’s innovative carbon capture, hydrogen, and decarbonization technologies and portfolio strategy into the global marketplace to contribute to a sustainable energy future. You will develop and implement a robust business plan for the UK region while facilitating cross-functional support to execute it. In addition, you will also be responsible for customer networking and political relationship building to position us to win work and create the optics of a pioneer in controlling global greenhouse gas emissions.

Typical areas of focus would be to:

  • Identify, develop, and position ClimateBright in the global market;
  • Enhance B&W’s brand recognition as a green company and global industry leader in the environmental and renewable energy markets;
  • Create and present business cases to help secure funding to support ClimateBright products;
  • Cultivate and sustain a network of customers to drive RFP opportunities based on geographic region;
  • Develop a future “Green EBITDA” framework to track earnings from B&W’s green technology projects, as well as future licensing, royalties, and on-going service sales;
  • Assist in acceleration and deployment of present and emerging technologies;
  • Achieve bookings goals while working closely with global Sales and Business Development teams.

You will report to the VP of ClimateBright and be part of a global team working with other regional directors. You will have no direct reports in this role. The right person will enjoy working independently and in an entrepreneurial setting. To succeed in this position, you need to be highly driven with a focus on implementing strategic actions to help the company grow market share and shareholder value. You will have a passion for analyzing the market, identifying growth opportunities, and working in a highly effective manner with internal and external stakeholders to achieve our goals. We imagine you have a background like this, but we are ready to be amazed

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Relevant experience within:

  • The sustainability market, especially with exposure to CCUS and H2 (Associations or political lobby group, Technologies in CCUS – in-situ, pre-combustion or post combustion, involved with products or uses of CO2/methane after extraction from feedstock);
  • Marketing and business development;
  • Working with/exposure to political engagement;
  • Knowledge and experience/exposure to product line management;
  • Experience in the power generation and/or industrial market sectors in local region (Power Generation – Coal/Gas/Syngas/Renewable/Biomass) (Industrial – O&G/Petrochemical/Steel/Cement/Pulp & Paper/WTE);
  • Engagement in a startup company (whether successful or not);
  • Developing B2B synergies;
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, and P&ID’s;
  • Technical aptitude coupled with business/finance savviness;
  • Knowledge of climate legislation in local region;
  • Fluent in English.
