The Head of Sustainability will work with managers, employees, customers, suppliers and stakeholders to address the organizations approach to environmental responsibility.
She/he will be responsible for:
Developing and deploying the corporate sustainability strategy aiming at reducing the company’s environmental impact amongst other sustainability/ESG-relevant topics;
Define long-, mid- and short-term objectives;
Monitor the company’s sustainability performance cross all geographies and business units;
Recruit, retain and develop sustainability and local community staff to meet organizational needs.
Role and Responsibilities:
Leads, develops, influences and delivers the organization's sustainability strategy;
Drafts and implements sustainable organizational policies and procedures that address sustainability/ESG needs;
Support heads of business functions and leaders within the Group to deliver on an integrated sustainability program and demonstrate progress against strategic objectives and key performance indicators; recommends and implements appropriate improvements;
Develops in collaboration with relevant business units’ local community engagement concepts as well as guides and supervises local community relations managers;
Be a sustainability advocate that drives positive innovation and change across the Group;
Ensure compliance with all EU environmental statutory reporting obligations;
Develop and publish the yearly Sustainability Report;
Monitors and analyses emerging trends regarding sustainability-related issues such as ESG reporting, regulations to determine potential impacts on business and organizational processes;
Conducts research to identify sustainability concerns & interests, and shares sustainability intelligence within the whole Falck Renewables Group;
Drafts and prepares reports, presentations, and proposals; presents proposals and recommendations to the Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders;
Develops and maintains appropriate documentation and records including budgets and other financials and allocates resources and workloads;
Identifies and facilitates training as needed;
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Master’s degree in Environmental studies, Engineering;
8-10 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in the energy sector or in consultancy;
Must be able to influence and make recommendations at a senior/Board level on areas ranging from strategy to policy, governance, process, reporting and business planning;
Ability to analyze and understand research and to identify relevant and valuable information;
Have solid project and budget management skills combined with high energy to set dynamic pace of delivery;
Global or multi-national corporate experience is strongly preferred.
Must have analytical and critical thinking skills;
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills;
Able to communicate clearly, succinctly and effectively over the phone and in writing with various counterparties;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Strong interpersonal skills and management experience;
Able to recruit, develop and retain staff;
Must be able to fluently speak/read/write in both English and Italian (mother tongue or similar); Spanish is considered a plus.
