Stora Enso is a leading global provider of renewable solutions in packaging, biomaterials, wooden construction and paper.
The impact on business from international and domestic policy related to sustainability continues to increase. This creates both opportunities and challenges for Stora Enso. The growing focus on sustainable forestry – including biodiversity – is extremely important to us, given our high sustainability ambitions. Several other policy areas are also critical to Stora Enso’s business, such as those relating to the circular economy (including packaging, plastics, construction and textiles) and climate change. For all these topics, forests, forestry and products therefrom are part of the solution to the societal challenges that policymakers seek to address. Stora Enso wants to be recognized as an active and constructive player in these policy discussions.
With this in mind, being active and updated in the development of policy and legislation at EU level, and in individual countries, is instrumental to understanding impact on the markets. We want to strengthen our ability to review, impact and act in this field with a Public Affairs Manager, who will focus especially on circular economy and climate change.
