The role
The goal of the Director of Scalable Solutions is to lead the development of scalable solutions in the Climate Solutions business line at South Pole. In this role, you lead a team of Solution Owners and work closely with Practice Leads, the Digital Product team and Marketing to ensure that the knowledge developed through bespoke client mandates (advisory) is systematically deployed into scalable solutions. You will turn world-class expertise in climate action, gained by a global team of consultants working with Fortune 500 companies and industrial leaders, into scalable products. The ambition is to build a suite of scalable solutions that enable any company, anywhere, to rapidly decarbonize and take climate action towards net zero.
As the market is growing rapidly and the climate crisis requires us to move fast, the ideal candidate must be able to take full ownership over the product development and effectively communicate it to a variety of stakeholders. You need to have a proven track record in developing scalable tools and thrive in a fast-paced environment where change is constant.
Main tasks & responsibilities
In the role, you will ensure that the scalable solutions:
- Enable companies to progress through the full climate journey;
- Enable a seamless transition between different steps of the climate journey;
- Are deployed through a completely scalable approach - from offer to implementation;
- Achieves client satisfaction and environmental impact;
- Identify scalable solution options;
- Ensure solution development at scale and pace;
- Deploy the scalable solutions with the sales and marketing teams through standardized sales material and pricing;
- Provide inputs and explore potential new business models for solutions to be developed;
- Provide inputs into the digitalization of these solutions.
Above and beyond product development, you will support the development of a strategy for the climate solutions business line to ensure that South Pole achieves its ambition to create true climate impact at scale.
Requirements
Essential
- University degree, ideally at a Master’s level or higher, in a field related to sustainability, environmental sciences, engineering, marketing, economics, finance, mathematics or modelling;
- Advanced understanding of client sustainability needs;
- Extensive experience in product development, including extensive experience using agile product development approaches;
- Advanced project management skills, from both a technical and administrative standpoint, and proven ability to guide project teams;
- Experience in consulting and/or digital transformation is a plus;
- Experience bringing a commercial and client-centric mindset to strong technical teams, and the ability to break down complex subject matter topics into simplified products and tools;
- Experience working with product managers to research and test product features to make sure we develop products with our clients in mind;
- Experience creating product roadmaps from conception to launch, driving the product vision, defining user stories and product specifications, helping to define the go-to-market strategy, and leading design and research discussions;
- Experience working on SaaS products;
- Eagerness to learn about new technologies and tackle new climate solution-specific problems;
- Fluency in English and good communication skills;
- An eagerness to have fun while you work, we’re tackling climate change and we’re having fun while we do it. Sometimes things get hard, sometimes they get stressful, but it’s important that you can deal with that and help others to do too.
Desirable
- Basic knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, and database management);
- Good working knowledge of all Google Suite applications;
- A diligent, reliable, proactive and self-sufficient but collaborative approach to work;
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced international environment;
- Advanced prioritisation and time management skills;
- Ability to collaborate in a multicultural environment with spread teams.
