Voltalia Greece is growing rapidly, both as an independent power producer with our own portfolio of renewable energy projects under development and as an EPC and O&M service provider to third parties. We are looking for an experienced Commercial Director to join our team, to assume a leadership role within the business, to cultivate commercial relationships with potential partners and clients, as well as foster strong relationships with government stakeholders, regulators and grid operators, and to make a meaningful contribution to the energy transition in Greece.

The ideal candidate would have more than 10 years’ experience in a senior commercial or business development role, working in the renewable sector, with an established network and relationships amongst the key stakeholders in Greece. This role will report to our Country Manager in Athens. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the leadership of the business in Greece and to expand your responsibilities to other geographies throughout Europe.

In this context, we are searching for a Commercial Director, able to

  • Cultivate commercial relationships with key clients, suppliers and government stakeholders;
  • Identify and qualify potential prospective customers and project opportunities;
  • Convert leads and prospects into concrete business opportunities and proposals;
  • Contribute commercial insights in to pricing decisions and contract negotiations;
  • Manage and maintain key customer relationships in coordination with the business line managers;
  • Attend relevant industry events to engage with market participants and generate new business;
  • Continuously analyze the market and identify potential new business opportunities and offerings;
  • Support our communications, lobbying and marketing activities;
  • Contribute to the overall business strategy and objectives and prepare and manage the associated budget.

Above all, we are seeking someone who can work collaboratively with all business line managers to cultivate important commercial relationships and to grow our business.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Confirmed experience (+ 10 years) in business development, preferably in the renewables field;
  • Well-established network of relationships amongst the key Greek stakeholders;
  • Proven track record in generating leads and converting them in to sales;
  • Relevant Business or Engineering Degree;
  • Driving License;
  • Computer proficiency.
