We are looking to recruit a Principal Sustainability Consultant to work on large-scale and strategic developments for our multinational clients in Ireland, Europe, Asia and the USA.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with significant experience in sustainable facility design and management to help shape the facilities of the future. The role can be based from either our Dublin or Cork office including hybrid working.

You will be joining our team of highly experienced Environment & Sustainability professionals focused on delivering PM Group’s vision “to be a highly valued and creative delivery partner, building a more sustainable world with our clients”.

Responsibilities

We are very interested in hearing from candidates who have the following experience:

  • Management of large-scale facilities where carbon is a significant business focus and reduction of resource consumption is a continuous improvement process;
  • Innovation in manufacturing to facilitate sustainable facility management including synergies with areas such as smart manufacturing and technology selection;
  • Design of biopharma, pharma, food & beverage and mission-critical facilities where low energy and energy-efficient design has been a key focal point of your design input and decision-making process;
  • Innovating and assessing design solutions at the earliest stage of the design process with a keen eye on decarbonisation, low energy, renewable techniques and sustainable alternative fuels;
  • Researching new products with low carbon & renewable technology solutions in mind such as Solar PV, Heat Pumps and energy storage systems;
  • Performing cost-benefit analysis/return on investment assessments using business case models such as Retscreen or similar;
  • Liaising with stakeholder subject matter experts in Sustainable design and advising them on appropriate solutions with a focus on their business interests and climate targets;
  • Preparation and management of decarbonisation strategies for large scale sector relevant projects;
  • Leading Project Teams and Stakeholders on a decarbonisation or low carbon/energy design approach from concept to completion;
  • Management of the interaction between project team members, clients and stakeholders;
  • Undertaking pre-application consultation with local authorities, other statutory bodies and stakeholders;
  • Understanding of the grants application process with SEAI, IDA and enterprise Ireland for sustainable technology capital investment;
  • Understanding corporate client goals, market trends and providing strategic leadership to the project team to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded;
  • If you have many but not all of the above experiences we would like to hear from you as you will be supported by an excellent team of professionals in this role.

Qualifications

  • Qualification of Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8 NQF) in Sustainability, Energy/Building Services engineering or related subject;
  • Significant relevant experience in the area of sustainable energy & carbon management;
  • A proven history of innovative approaches to low carbon design and/or management excellence;
  • Excellent knowledge of sustainable design practices and international experience desirable;
  • Project management skills;
  • Clear and confident verbal & written communication skills.
