About the job

We are looking for a pro-active Asset Management Consultant to work on supporting our heat business to deliver reliable, affordable and sustainable heat to our growing customer base and supporting our production assets in their operation, maintenance and transformation in becoming fossil free. In this role you will be part of the Asset Management Consultant team and help shape the development of our asset management department and our Business Unit Heat Netherlands asset portfolio.

Your tasks and responsibilities

In the Asset Management team for Business Unit Heat Netherlands, we aim to maximise the present and future value of our asset portfolio. To achieve that we maintain close ties with our colleagues in sales, operations, dispatch, and controlling. We keep the performance and development of our portfolio in check, and we engage in strategy development, investment planning, project governance, network planning and modelling.

Your responsibilities as Asset Management Consultant can be described as following:

  • Support the asset management process, guiding the business through the strategic and financial planning and lead risk and opportunity management.
  • Connect not only the operational, commercial, and strategic parts of our business, but also the people who work there.
  • Drive analyses for decisions related to key strategic commercial and technical decisions for the asset and grids drawing on the input and diverse skill set of the BU and BA organisation.
  • Support and present decision proposals, strategic analysis and financial planning to senior management.
  • Improve and implement our way of working to make sure the business can be effective and efficient.

Your profile

For this position we are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of complex tasks and the ability to work autonomously with great rigor and precision. As well as being a strong team player, with the ability to influence over a wide network of co-worker relationships and key stakeholders. Also, you bring the following qualifications:

  • You have an academic degree in business administration, engineering, or any other relevant field of study.
  • Knowledge and experience of asset management principles and application is desirable.
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of business case drivers and commercial opportunities.
  • More than 3 years’ experience of working in the power and heat business or similar complex industries is desirable.

  • Possess excellent organizational skills and be comfortable at simultaneously managing several tasks to often challenging deadlines.
  • Positive mindset with strong self-motivation, resilience, and both a flexible and proactive approach to tackling problems.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels within the organization, including proactive sharing of any new ideas or thoughts.
  • Experience and the ability to work with people from different cultures.
  • Enjoy working in multidisciplinary projects and teams and you are willing to travel.
  • Excellent written and spoken in Dutch and English is a key requirement as well as the ability to use MS Office, in particular MS Excel and PowerPoint.
