We have built a new Hydrogen team and set up a Netherlands (NL) hydrogen hub. You will be reporting into the COO Hydrogen and be part of RWE Generation’s Hydrogen Leadership Team.

As the Director of Hydrogen Business Development NL you are accountable for developing RWE’s hydrogen footprint in the Netherlands. You will help shape the overall hydrogen management agenda to further drive the hydrogen business-building, lead the senior external engagement with potential customers and partners, and set up sustainable and value-adding processes within the NL and across national borders in close collaboration with the Global Strategy & Business Growth, Regulatory & Funding Management, the Commercial and Technical hydrogen functions.

The position cooperates closely with different business areas of RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST), RWE Renewables GmbH (RWER), and Generation (RWEG) incl. Technology International.

Your future plans

• Drive development of new business models and value creation along the entire H2 value chain in the NL markets in line with H2 strategy;
• Drive early business development and lead senior external engagement with potential customers and partner;
• Leverage centrally steered functions and commercial and technical resources to support your opportunity and project development (i.e. Global hydrogen engineering);
• Establish a fully comprehensive NL project development organization, develop and implement standard working procedures for successful project delivery on the highest quality level;
• Develop and deliver projects, steer commercial and technical development activities in the hydrogen field;
• Orchestrate all activities along the H2 project lifecycle, from technical feasibility analysis and electrolyzer concept development, to commissioning and technical documentation with a team project development managers;
• Ensure ongoing operations in the full range of H2 projects;
• Lead project management including co-operation of experts within and outside of RWE.

Your powerful skills

• Degree in business, economic or industrial engineering;
• Professional experience in the energy sector, preferably in commercial, technical or risk controlling;
• Deep understanding of the NL energy market;
• Demonstrate complex thinking skills, including both analytical and conceptual skills;
• Striving to improve business results at international level;
• Focusing, targeting and building effective groups across national borders, and strong collaboration skills;
• Strong communication skills and safe behavior at all levels;
• Enthusiasm, assertiveness and decision-making power;
• Willingness to travel;
• Business fluent in Dutch, English and/or German a bonus.
