Prologis is seeking an ambitious and passionate Manager of Engineering, Energy and Mobility to scale our energy offerings, with a strong focus on renewables and with knowledge of solar, storage, resiliency, and EV in our European market. We own over 5,300 buildings across the globe. The right candidate has worked on hundreds of onsite renewable energy projects in Europe, understands the drivers in markets around the world, has experience working with Building Departments and local utilities (Grid Operators, DNO’s etc) and has been involved in many innovative renewable projects. Experience with offsite solar, wind, community solar, in front of the meter storage, BMS and electric vehicle infrastructure is highly valued. Anything we can do to help solve customer needs or monetize our unparalleled holdings is in play.

You will report to the Director of Electrification Solutions in EU with a dotted line to the Global Head of Project Execution in US and play a meaningful role as part of a top-notch team of Global Energy professionals who are driving value for Prologis.

What’s needed in order to do that:

  • Be the European representative for the Global Energy team with our Development Management, build-to-suit and customer led development teams to ensure we incorporate our Energy, Mobility, and Sustainable solutions at the time of construction
  • Evaluate new technologies and vendors globally; collaborate cross functionally to help develop and maintain standard set of specifications for supporting sales, design and installation of our Energy and Sustainable solutions.
  • Provide construction support / oversight / review of the engineering performed by our Contractors, Engineering/Procurment/Construction (EPC) partners, and Subcontractors, as required for successful completion of projects. Visits sites as needed during pre-construction and construction to support project needs.
  • Assist with procurement activities including technical requirements, review and contracting.
  • Implement processes and procedures to systematically help the quality of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction activities including optimization, best practices, and technical viability.
  • Manage contractual relationships with Engineer Contractors/Consultants and coordinate with legal, as needed, to assist with contract negotiations and to resolve programmatic needs/requirements
  • Lead cost reduction efforts including researching design alternatives and value engineering.
  • Enforce processes, best practices, and strategies for the design and execution of cost and schedule-efficient projects.
  • Review solar, utility storage, EV, generator, microgrid, and other emerging energy technology quality, commissioning, and testing documentation.
  • Co-ownership of Prologis European Energy and Mobility technical specification documentation for solar, storage, EV, generators, microgrid, etc.
  • Collaborate on global standardization including our Design, Procurement and Construction specifications.

Tell us if you’re ready:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Systems or Renewables. Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ senior level experience in engineering, technical project management, or sales engineering, ideally within a business-to-business C&I environment specifically in renewable or electrical technology
  • Expert understanding of project development process from Design through Interconnection, Permitting and Construction
  • Hands on experience in power generation, distribution, mobility, and other highly relevant industry.
  • Positive, innovative, and collaborative attitude, strong ability to communicate across departments and drive to “find a solution that works”
  • Strong understanding of the interplay between system design, cost, project economics, and financed pricing
  • Experience in dealing with Utilities, DNOs, Permitting agencies and represent Prologis in the best possible way.
  • Knowledge of roofing, roof materials, structural feasibility, electrical engineering, Utility scale BESS Projects, Mobility projects, etc.
  • Knowledge of codes related to construction projects (all of Europe)
  • Knowledge of interconnection requirements, power purchase agreements, distributed solar, storage, EV and general renewable energy
  • Strong understanding of electricity market design, federal and state regulatory rules and issues, tariff structures, renewable energy, and renewable incentives
  • Able to travel up to 20% of the time
