We are looking for an experienced sustainable design specialist to champion the integration of sustainable solutions across all projects. Responsibilities include:
Working with the design teams to integrate strategies focused on net zero carbon, circular materiality, health and wellbeing and positive social impact, with a passive design and low carbon approach;
Assessing the environmental performance of buildings and masterplans through energy modelling, carbon footprinting, daylight studies, thermal comfort assessments and other relevant studies to provide design feedback and assess the compliance with different rating systems requirements (i.e. LEED, WELL, BREEAM, etc.);
Producing rigorous, data driven reports to explain and justify analysis results and recommendations, as well as project deliverables as required;
Communicating complex technical concepts and solutions to clients and design teams in a clear straightforward way;
Working in a multi-disciplinary manner, engaging with different disciplines in-house and externally;
Managing own workload to meet project deadlines;
Supporting the development of junior members of the team;
Conducting research and training into existing and emerging sustainable policy, trends and technologies;
Engaging with the wider industry and professional bodies;
Contributing and assisting as required to the different projects.
Qualifications
Background in Architecture, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar. An MSc on Sustainability or Environmental Design is desirable;
2 to 5 years of relevant experience;
A passion for sustainability and general awareness of current environmental affairs;
Strong building physics knowledge. Experience with low carbon systems, passive design solutions and renewable energy;
An in depth-knowledge of environmental simulation software is highly desirable (IES VE, Energy+, Ladybug Tools, OneClick LCA, etc.). An appreciation of coding or a modern programming language would be an advantage. Some knowledge of BIM is appreciated;
Familiar with international rating systems (LEED, BREEAM, WELL, Passivhaus, etc.). Professional accreditation in one or more of those rating systems is appreciated;
Good attention to detail and meticulous approach to assessment;
Excellent research and analytical skills;
Ability and confidence to communicate and present complex technical information in an engaging non-technical manner;
Ability to work independently, using own initiative;
