About the job:

We are looking for a Sustainable Energy Manager with a passion for renewable energy, power markets and developing innovative energy management solutions. You will have a leading role in designing and implementing our sustainable energy sourcing strategy, with the purpose of delivering our commitment to produce batteries with 100% fossil free energy. This includes a holistic responsibility for developing sourcing and hedging strategies, negotiation and execution of energy sourcing agreements, developing market intelligence and making recommendations for on-site generation and storage capacities.

We believe that you have 8+ years’ experience in the energy field, covering energy sourcing strategy and execution, wholesale energy market agreement origination and energy management, and renewable energy power purchase agreements. Ideally, you have experience in energy sourcing and strategy from an industrial company or other private sector actor.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Further development and operationalization of Northvolt’s energy sourcing strategy across Northvolt’s factory footprint, including sourcing of electricity, heating & cooling and energy storage;
• Negotiating and structuring energy transactions that support Northvolt’s commitment to powering our operations with 100% renewable energy;
• Delivering periodic energy market analysis to Northvolt management and other key internal stakeholders;
• Assisting in factory site selection evaluation and supplier localizations;
• Management and reporting of Northvolt’s overall energy contract portfolio & hedging strategies;
• Working closely together with colleagues in Sustainability & Environment, Finance, Purchasing, Strategy, and local factory organizations.

Skills & Requirements:

We believe that you have:

• Bachelor’s degree or above;
• 8+ years’ experience within the European energy field, including sourcing strategy formulation and execution, wholesale energy market agreement origination and energy agreement management, and renewable energy power purchase agreements;
• Experience in energy sourcing from an industrial company, other private sector actor or consultancy is a big advantage;

• Strong ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment;
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and cross-functionally, as well as independently;
• Excellent English, both written and oral skills.
