Your role:

  • Lead and steer the design of a new state-of-the-art MCI Data Analysis approach group-wide (incl. Petrom and Borealis and Sapura) with relevant internal stakeholders (entire Strategy Team, IT, Controlling, counterparts in Energy, Fuels & Feedstock, Chemical & Materials, Borealis, Petrom);
  • Identify together with the MCGI and Strategy Team market opportunities and drive intelligence that supports decision making in a structured way (especially for green topics);
  • Significant contribution & Participation in Strategy Development & Implementation Projects and strategic Business Development projects by providing the data set derived from the MCGI team;
  • Set up a new IT environment to derive state-of-the art data analytics (tools, programming languages in close exchange with other business data analysts (e.g. Customer Center of Excellence, IT) and spearhead a data-driven culture for Intelligence work across the enterprise;
  • Prepare, drive and steer the annual MTP planning assumption process (define timeline, key milestones, presentation material, final documentation) and support the HoD MCGI with the alignment process with key stakeholders;
  • The incumbent will be responsible for providing both a subject matter expertise and hands on expertise in market modelling development, execution and assessment;
  • Establish together with the Macroeconomist & Industry Trend Analyst the articulation of forecasts and scenarios based on macroeconomic and financial linkages;
  • Manages the external data provider tools and subscriptions (incl. Group-wide budget) to build up a Business Intelligence Platform (including trainings, speakers, knowledge transfer, one-set of validated data).

Your profile:

  • You have a Master Degree in Economics, IT, Business Administration or relevant field;
  • You have minimum 9 years of relevant professional experience;
  • Experience in the energy market with a good understanding of the overall transition of the energy landscape and strong IT business know-how;
  • Advanced statistics and/or data science skills including solid knowledge in statistical programing languages and data bases;
  • Hands-on experience with different forecasting methods and tools is required, familiarity with macroeconomic and financial market data sources is a an advantage;
  • Experience with programming languages/statistical software (e.g., EViews, Stata, Python, R) and advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills desired;
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data, summarize key concepts and clearly articulate relevant conclusions;
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, with the ability to prepare executive level presentations;
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills. Inquisitive nature, ability to ask right questions and escalate issues;
  • Self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with a proven track record of execution against deliverables;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities and to meet deadlines under pressure.
