Job Description
- Evaluate and generate new investment leads and business opportunities for renewable energy generation projects in defined focus countries in Europe – in close coordination with the Renewables CEO and the Origination Director of the Green Assets Division,
- Perform project assessment, including feasibility studies and risk analyses, with support of internal and selected external resources (e.g. technical and legal advisors),
- Identify, develop, negotiate, and execute complex structured transactions to build a well-stocked and sustainable project pipeline,
- Getting involved in the M&A process including advisor coordination, SPA and DSA negotiations, due diligence, valuation and investment proposals to senior management,
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key partners (e.g. project initiators, developers, operators, advisors in technical, financial and tax etc. areas) to access and generate new investment possibilities in renewable power production,
- Leading negotiations with the different stakeholders,
- Definition of project due diligence scope of work and budget, negotiation of engagement letters with external advisors and coordination of the due diligence. Identification and management of red flags arising from the due diligence,
- Preparation of approval proposals to internal decision boards,
- Coordinate and interface closely with other internal functions (Green Assets Valuation Team, Development & Construction Team, Structured Finance, Group M&A Team, Power Trading Desk etc.),
- Close coordination of transaction execution with M&A team in case of brownfield acquisitions,
- Perform periodic market and risk analysis of the renewables landscape in focus countries – in close coordination with local subsidiaries of MET,
- Availability to travel across Europe as necessary for the role between 20-40%.
Qualifications
- University degree in Economics and/ or Business and/ or Engineering,
- 3-7 years of experience in M&A or Business Development, preferably in the field of renewables, particularly in photovoltaics and onshore wind across Europe,
- Good understanding of the European power market fundamentals, generation assets, market players and market regulations,
- Excellent communication skills in English and preferably in any other European language,
- Strong commercial mindset and good understanding of valuation models.
