Energy Transition Engineer

Mission
The candidate should have expertise in energy systems, energy modelling and project management. The candidate will work mainly on projects related to renewables, energy grids optimization, waste heat recovery, energy modelling, control system and decision support tools for energy management in buildings, industrial environment and districts.
Key Accountabilities
Activities:
- Definition of mathematical models of energy production and transformation systems for the generation of virtual energy networks;
- Design and customization of advanced control systems to manage complex energy networks;
- Use of simulation software (Matlab, Trnsys, Modelica, Revit, E+) and programming languages (C++, Python, Java, HTML, etc.);
- Management of tasks/work packages and coordination of EU funded projects;
- Management of EU funded project demonstrators.
Skills and Competences
- Knowledge of medium/low-capacity energy systems for civil and industrial applications;
- knowledge of optimization techniques based on physics and data driven models for residential and industrial applications;
- Experience in EU funded project coordination and proposal writing;
- Team working on challenging and diversified activities;
- Problem solving attitude;
- Good communication skills;
- Pro-active customer focused approach;
- Advanced knowledge of energy simulation software and programming languages.
Education
- Master’s Degree in Energy Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Qualifications
- A PhD in energy or mechanical engineering is considered preferable.
