Head of Energy Offtake (Central & Western Europe)

Your responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of country focused Energy Offtake Managers and Associates within the markets of West and Central Europe for Uniper’s renewable assets development entity “Uniper Renewables GmbH”;
- Overseeing and managing the team that secures country specific energy offtake solutions for our pipeline of wind, solar and battery assets through PPAs or other contracts;
- Directing the activities regarding origination, structuring and negotiation of power purchase agreements (PPAs) in the UK, French, Italian and Swedish markets;
- Coordinating the participation of Uniper’s renewables projects at regulatory tenders for subsidies (e.g. Feed-in Tariffs or Contracts for Difference);
- Leading on the commercial decision paper processes for the Uniper Renewables Leadership Team, e.g. on the route to market strategy for the energy and certificates from Uniper’s renewable assets;
- Supporting the identification and implementation of strategic partnerships to accelerate commercial activities;
- Widening the network of market players (local utilities, corporate offtakers, trading companies etc.) and expanding the Uniper brand as a global player in the renewable energies sector;
- Facilitating and developing the cross functional collaboration within the Renewables business as well as between the Energy Offtake team and relevant internal and external stakeholders and partners;
- Project Development, Market Analysis, Pricing and Legal;
- Risk, Tax, Accounting, Compliance etc.;
- Implementing an onboarding, development and training program within the team;
- Reports to the Vice President Energy Offtake;
- Responsible for up to 6 people within the team.
Your profile
- C-Suite level exposure and management experience;
- Expertise in renewable energy with proven track record in commercial contract negotiations;
- Relevant work experience in either a trading, (PPA) origination, sales, power procurement or comparable commercial role;
- Strong network across the Renewable Energy Industry and/or potential power offtakers;
- Very good project and stakeholder management skills with analytical mindset;
- Good understanding of the renewable energy markets, pricing schemes as well as regulatory renumeration systems;
- Experience in people management across different cultures;
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
- International work experience and appreciation of cultural differences;
- Willingness to travel monthly;
- Business fluency in German, Hungarian, Swedish, Italian and/or French is a plus but not a set requirement;
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Commercial Law or comparable studies;
- Creative and open-minded individual with a motivating “can-do” mentality;
- This role can work on a hybrid approach with the ability to work from home and the office. There is an expectation to work from the office at least once a month.
