Responsibilities

As (Senior) Business Developer (B2B/B2C) Flexibility Trading, you will enhance our capabilities for steering, optimizing, and monetizing our portfolio of large-scale batteries and other flexible assets in the German, UK, and NL markets. In this role, you will:

  • Stay up to date with our power portfolio needs and the commercial and technical aspects of energy markets and balancing products across different countries.
  • Collaborate with our Short-Term Trading teams across Europe to develop access to new products in Commodity / TSO / DSO markets, enhancing our asset optimization and trading capabilities to monetize our portfolio of grid-scale batteries and B2C customer assets.
  • Support the design of customer propositions (both B2B and B2C), with a dedicated focus on small-scale flexibility solutions. This includes a deep understanding of underlying processes, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks that drive business development in this sector.
  • Work in international projects to implement innovative new products, ensuring that B2C small-scale flexibility offerings are prioritized. You will be responsible for reviewing, translating, and integrating relevant regulations into actionable inputs for feasibility studies across different regions.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories and act as the go-to person for the software development team to understand what needs to be built on our VPP platform.

Qualifications

  • You hold a university degree in energy economics, engineering, natural sciences, or a comparable field.
  • You have experience in flexibility trading and product development, with a proven track record in developing VPP systems.
  • You bring strong expertise in B2C business development, specifically in designing and launching small-scale flexibility products. A deep understanding of the underlying processes, market knowledge, and customer needs in the B2C segment is essential.
  • Demonstrable regulatory knowledge is crucial; you must be adept at reviewing and translating regulatory requirements into feasibility inputs for business development strategies across various regions.
  • You have an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a keen interest in Energy Markets.
  • You demonstrate a willingness to take on responsibility and deliver valuable solutions, taking personal pride in the quality of your work.
  • You enjoy working in a diverse team across the E.ON organization in Europe.
  • You possess excellent spoken and written communication skills in English; a good command of another European language is seen as a plus.
