Position Description

The Assets team operates and manages a fast-growing and varied portfolio of ESB-owned assets installed on customer premises in Britain and Ireland, including solar PV, heat pumps, EV charge points, Combined Heat and Power (CHP), smart building controls, and batteries.

As the asset owner for SES, the Assets team is responsible for the safe technical and commercial performance of the assets, the operation of contracts with customers and service providers, billing and payments and credit control, from handover and the start of commercial operation through to end of life. The Assets team also contributes at design and delivery stage to ensure the safe operability and maintainability of the asset.

We are seeking a team member to monitor, report on, schedule and dispatch repair and maintenance, and continually improve the technical and commercial performance of the assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate systems to measure, analyse, and report on the technical, financial, and environmental performance of ESB-owned assets.
  • Monitor condition and maintenance requirements of ESB-owned assets, schedule, track and dispatch preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Oversee handover and performance testing of assets.
  • Manage contracts with customers and service providers
  • Provide information to Customer Operations team for the purposes of invoicing and payments, to Finance for the purpose of financial reporting, and to Management.
  • Assist in the procurement and implementation of a contract management system.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Show a high degree of initiative and self-direction in identifying work that needs to be done and delivering it successfully.
  • Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Engineering or other technical qualification or equivalent technical experience
  • At least 5 years’ professional experience, preferably in an energy-related sector
  • Proficiency in the use of the MS Office suite
  • Ability to work on own initiative with a high degree of self-direction.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in facilities management.
  • Experience working with energy systems.
  • Contract management experience.
  • Experience working in an Engineering and/or maintenance scheduling role.
