Model Developer - Flexibility Trading

Responsibilities
- As (Senior) Model Developer in our Decentral Energy Markets function you are a vital part of building and optimizing our portfolio of large-scale batteries as well as other flexible assets
- You implement and apply mathematical models to support long-term flexibility value analysis and help to prepare business cases to support investment decisions
- You develop, own, and maintain optimization algorithms across market channels, e.g. for the optimal operation of a battery on the energy and flexibility markets in various countries
- You stay up to date with our power portfolio needs and the commercial and technical aspects of balancing products in different countries
- You support the design of customer propositions, e.g. for our e-mobility, PV or battery customers (B2B and B2C) and work in international projects to implement new products
Qualifications
- You have a university degree in energy economics, engineering, natural sciences or comparable studies
- You have a passion for solving optimization problems with a strongly analytical and structured way of thinking as well as proven modelling skills in Python
- You have working experience in short-term power markets in Europe, including day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets
- Relevant professional experience in energy trading, ideally in optimizing batteries or other flexible assets on the energy markets is a plus
- You demonstrate willingness to take on responsibility and deliver valuable solutions while taking personal pride in the quality of your work
- You enjoy working in a diverse team across the E.ON organization in Europe
- You have excellent spoken and written communication skills in English, good command of another European language is seen as a plus
