Join the Sizewell C project as a Carbon Manager and lead the charge in shaping the future of sustainable infrastructure! Working closely with the Alliance ESG Strategic Operations Lead, you will drive the delivery of ambitious carbon reduction targets that will make a real difference to the environment. You'll play a vital role in crafting innovative carbon reduction roadmaps, developing compelling business cases, and embedding cutting-edge sustainability initiatives into contracts. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Alliance ESG Strategic Operations Lead and carbon team to deliver on carbon reduction commitments and targets;
  • Lead the development and management of carbon route maps, plans, and strategies to meet project objectives;
  • Develop and maintain carbon management resources, documentation, and training programs;
  • Embed carbon management practices across project functions including procurement, commercial, plant management, and logistics;
  • Take ownership of project carbon reporting, including baselines, forecasts, progress updates, and carbon accounting;
  • Provide expert guidance on carbon assessments and impacts to project teams;
  • Champion low carbon innovations within the supply chain and support the development and delivery of incentive business cases;
  • Work with technical groups to support low carbon solutions for fuel, asphalt, concrete, and steel.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of carbon impact and mitigation in major infrastructure projects;
  • Practical knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) reporting;
  • Familiarity with carbon reporting standards and frameworks, including PAS 2080 (2023);
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Highly organised, determined, and able to drive tasks to completion;
  • Degree (BSc or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Carbon, Energy, or similar field;
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing finance teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and contribute to strategic decision-making across large project alliances.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools;
  • Membership of a relevant professional body;
  • Advanced degree (MSc) in Sustainability, Carbon, Energy, or related field.
