Your responsibilities

• Deliver against a P&L target via portfolio/asset optimization (Storage, Transport, LTCs, Sales, LNG) and apply market view to capitalize trading opportunities for the timeframe of Within-day up to Month-Ahead;
• Contribute to the team’s optimization and trading strategy via analysis of market fundamentals (e.g. geopolitics, cross-commodity, LNG, storage fill-levels etc.);
• Develop a deep understanding of our portfolio, e.g., contractual, financial, physical constraints, price and temperature sensitivities of contracts and find new ways to extract value from portfolio flexibility;
• Develop efficient interface across trading areas/desks to cultivate cross commodity/portfolio optimization opportunities (Gas2Power, LNG Regas, Biomethane);
• Achieve high accuracy in forecasting sales volumes and prudent portfolio steering to manage temperature-driven and price-driven demand and minimize imbalance charges;
• Drive the implementation of algo-trading and other digitalization projects to provide more insight and speed for commercial decision-making (e.g. Optimization Workbench, fundamental analysis platform);
• Continuously improve efficiency and controls via high level of automation to create robust operational processes for value creation and value protection;
• Ensure effective communication and close collaboration with the 24/7 Gas Trading & Dispatch team and the Gas & LNG Forward Optimization teams to drive change towards a seamless optimization function with full focus on maximizing value creation 24 hours 7 days a week;
• Support the development of new markets and new business (e.g. Biomethane, Eastern Europe);
• On-call duty is required for out-of-office hours, with rotation between team members from week to week.

Your profile

• Relevant higher education degree (mathematics, sciences, engineering, economics, business or comparable);
• Quantitative mindset: use strong analytical skills for data-driven decision making and agile in adjusting trading strategies in volatile market environment;
• Entrepreneurial spirit: takes initiative in implementing new ideas and highly motivated to drive and embrace change;
• Knowledgeable and commercial orientation in optimizing flexible assets; prior commodity trading experience a plus;
• Excellent ability to work under pressure with high accuracy and in a structured manner with a good sense of prioritization;
• Enjoy problem solving and is resilient, resourceful and pragmatic;
• Eager to learn and capability to translate complex detail into simple learning with a clear commercial acumen;
• Knowledge of programming skills a plus;
• Team player, positive energy and cooperative mindset from a Group perspective;
• Excellent communication skills in English.
