Job Description

As Head of Sustainability you will be the figurehead for our organizational transformation. Building on the strong foundation of knowledge, capacity, and goal-setting established across the company over recent years, you will lead TOMRA Collection toward net zero.

The Head of Sustainability leads the Sustainability department in TOMRA Collection, currently consisting of two direct reports. In addition, there are several roles throughout the global organization that have a dotted line to the Head of Sustainability and the sustainability team. Furthermore, the Head of Sustainability collaborates closely with the teams in TOMRA Group Sustainability and the other TOMRA divisions.

The Head of Sustainability reports to the Head of Strategy in TOMRA Collection.

Main responsibilities

  • Deliver on TOMRA Collection’s sustainability strategy and targets: Set direction, targets, and enable action across the organization to make sure targets are met;
  • Report status towards our sustainability goals: Communicate progress to key stakeholders, including employees, leadership teams, TOMRA Group, and the Board of Directors;
  • Drive and manage change: Motivate employees and leaders, provide sustainability expertise, build competence and develop solutions to make lasting change;
  • Manage the sustainability team: Ensure team engagement, goals, deliverables and competencies for current and long-term needs;
  • Improve sustainability reporting: Enhance the quality of sustainability reporting required by TOMRA Group, including GHG scope 1-3 data and input to annual reporting;
  • Embed sustainability into operations: Continuously find and support new ways to integrate sustainability into our regular operations;
  • Represent TOMRA Collection externally: Engage with customers and represent TOMRA Collection in external forums.

Qualifications

  • Higher university degree within business-related or technical subjects;
  • Proven sustainability expertise;
  • Track record of navigating complex organizations and influencing at all levels;
  • Experience with driving and managing change, preferably in an international setting.

  • Strong communicator with excellent storytelling skills to inspire and engage at different levels, functions, and geographies;

  • Ability to approach tasks with a structured, and analytical mindset
  • Self-driven and comfortable finding solutions in uncertainty.
