Head of Power Origination - Germany and Central Europe

Your responsibilities
- As a leader within Uniper’s Global Origination department, manage and build a high-performing team of power/PPA originators covering the German and Central European power markets, supporting Uniper’s positioning as a leading green power supplier;
- Accountable for developing a strong pipeline of upstream PPA transactions of diverse types (tenors, technology and structure) in line with the Green Power Portfolio strategy;
- Ensure that the team provides a strong and streamlined coverage of various types of counterparties, ranging from independent developers/small asset owners to large renewable companies, to position Uniper as a partner of choice for PPAs and related deals in Germany and CE;
- Responsible for providing market/counterparty intelligence to Uniper’s power portfolio teams to help define business strategies and product development;
- Lead origination of transactions to support Power Asset portfolio implementation, including in relation to BESS/energy storage;
- Ensure efficient and effective interface with peers within Global Origination and with relevant portfolio, pricing and trading managers within Power;
- Champion continuous improvement of operational processes related to power transaction execution;
- Build a collaborative and entrepreneurial team culture.
Your profile
- Excellent network of relevant relationships with renewable project developers, asset portfolio owners, including EEG linked asset owners in Germany;
- In-depth understanding and significant experience of power markets with a focus on PPAs;
- Experience in a leadership role, including line management responsibility with strong stakeholder management skills and collaborative way of working;
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a ‘can do’ attitude to enable growth of the PPA business by building a strong PPA origination franchise;
- Strong ability to identify and develop commercial opportunities;
- Established track record of originating, negotiating and closing diverse types of power transactions;
- Sound understanding of risk concepts including credit, market, liquidity and operational risks;
- German language skills beneficial.
