As a Trade Analyst (m/f/d) Power, Gas & Emissions, you play a key role in supporting our trading team with data-driven insights and operational excellence. You work closely with traders, back office, and the Data & Analytics team to ensure the accuracy of trade bookings and the quality of market analysis.
Your structured approach and analytical skills help us better understand market developments and strengthen our trading decisions. By ensuring that data, systems, and processes are aligned and reliable, you contribute directly to the performance and efficiency of our energy trading business and support MB Energy’s journey toward a more sustainable energy future.
Your tasks in a nutshell:
- Data Analysis & Market Monitoring: You analyze large sets of trading and market data to identify trends, price drivers, and trading opportunities in the power, gas & emissions markets;
- Market Intelligence: You support the trading team by preparing timely and accurate market insights, contributing to the development of trading strategies;
- Trade Booking & Validation: You oversee trade entries, ensure accurate trade booking, and support post-trade processes in coordination with back office and product control;
- Trader Support: You work closely with traders to provide analytical input, ensure smooth operational execution, and contribute to day-to-day trading activities;
- Continuous Improvement: You identify opportunities to enhance reporting, streamline data flows, and support automation projects that improve the efficiency and accuracy of trading operations.
What helps you to fulfill this role:
- Experience: Initial practical experience in data analytics or a comparable analytical role;
- Education: Completed university degree in business, economics, engineering, data science, or a related field;
- Tool Proficiency: Strong skills in Excel; familiarity with tools like VBA, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or SQL is a plus;
- Technical Understanding: Confident in working with large data sets and deriving actionable insights; an interest in energy markets or trading is welcome;
- Language Skills: Fluent in English is required; German is a strong asset.
