We are expanding our Biofuels Compliance Team and are looking for a (Senior) Renewable Fuels Analyst (m/f/d). As part of our sustainability team, you will report directly to the Renewable Fuel Trading Desk. Your key responsibility will be ensuring national compliance with mandated CO₂ reduction targets in Germany. Additionally, you will work with regulatory sustainability reporting and traceability in other European countries.
In this role, you will be a key contributor to implementing our growing ambitions in trading sustainable fuels both domestically and internationally. You will take responsibility and actively shape future international market entries together with the trading team by preparing and implementing national and European legal and regulatory requirements.

Your tasks in a nutshell:
- Ensure sustainability compliance: You collaborate and consult with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with the Renewable Energy Directive (RED) for air, sea, and road mobility.
- Manage documentation: You manage contractual and administrative processes related to the compliance options used.
- Maintain and report sustainability data: You maintain accurate sustainability documentation, support national reporting obligations, and contribute to EU-wide frameworks such as RED III and other relevant directives.
- Calculate and optimize GHG performance: You calculate the company’s greenhouse gas (GHG) position and support the commercial optimization of biofuel mandate fulfillment.
- Monitor and audit sustainability systems: You monitor, review, and prepare mass balances to ensure full compliance with current laws and regulations, and you organize and conduct regular sustainability audits.
- Drive innovation and efficiency: You identify opportunities to streamline reporting, strengthen traceability, and enhance processes through digital tools and automation.
- Support market expansion: You contribute to the successful market entry of sustainable fuels across Northwest Europe.
- Collaborate Across Cultures: You work in a dynamic, intercultural team that drives the transition toward a more sustainable energy future.
What helps you to fulfill this role:
- Professional Background: Several years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, compliance, or renewable energy. Experience in related industries such as power market balancing group management or bio-compliance is equally relevant.
- Academic Qualification: University degree in sustainability, engineering, environmental or natural sciences, or economics.
- Subject-Matter Expertise: In-depth understanding of mass balance concepts, sustainability certification, and greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting methodologies.
- Regulatory Insight: Solid knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks such as ISCC-EU, ISCC-Plus, BImSchG, BImSchV, BEHG, ReFuelAviation, or ReFuelEUMaritime - or a strong ability to quickly familiarize yourself with these.
- Data Proficiency: Strong analytical skills and ability to work with complex data sets. Experience in optimizing data processing workflows and applying digital tools or basic programming is an advantage.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English; German skills are a plus.
