Senior Model Developer - Flexibility Trading

Responsibilities
- As a Senior Model Developer in our Short-term Flex & Algo Trading function, you take a key role in shaping and optimizing our portfolio of large-scale batteries and other flexible assets;
- You design, implement, and continuously advance mathematical models that drive long-term flexibility value analysis and underpin strategic investment decisions;
- You develop, own, and further enhance optimization algorithms across multiple market channels – ensuring the optimal operation of batteries and other assets on energy and flexibility markets across different countries;
- You proactively align with our evolving power portfolio needs and bring deep expertise into the commercial and technical requirements of balancing products across various markets;
- You contribute to the development of innovative customer propositions (e.g. in e-mobility, PV or battery solutions for B2B and B2C) and play a central role in international projects to launch and scale new products.
Qualifications
- You have a university degree in energy economics, engineering, natural sciences or comparable studies;
- You have a passion for solving optimization problems with a strongly analytical and structured way of thinking as well as proven modelling skills in Python;
- You have a minimum of 5 years working experience in short-term power markets in Europe, including day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets;
- You have several years of professional experience in energy trading, ideally in optimizing batteries or other flexible assets on the energy markets is a plus;
- You demonstrate willingness to take on responsibility and deliver valuable solutions while taking personal pride in the quality of your work;
- You enjoy working in a diverse team across the E.ON organization in Europe;
- You have excellent spoken and written communication skills in English, good command of another European language is seen as a plus.
