Portfolio & Pricing Analyst

At Alpiq, we are currently looking for a Portfolio & Pricing Analyst to strengthen our pricing activities and support the management of third-party assets across day-ahead and intraday markets in several European countries. In this role, you will contribute to the improvement and development of pricing tools, portfolio monitoring, and models supporting our third-party trading business in Europe. You will also handle portfolio monitoring and reporting, conduct quantitative analyses to assess risks and identify business opportunities, and drive process improvements.
Your main responsibilities
- Drive the pricing process by independently managing and executing all operational pricing activities, ensuring continuous communication between the Intraday Trading team, Sales & Origination and the Structuring desk for flawless customer support;
- Implement adaptations for existing pricing tools and develop market-specific pricing tool solutions for the pricing of third-party assets;
- Perform continuous portfolio monitoring and reporting to internal stakeholders, including ad-hoc and risk management reporting;
- Conduct quantitative portfolio analyses to assess risks, identify new business opportunities, and define new pricing strategies in cooperation with the Trading team and Sales & Origination to optimize revenue and market share;
- Provide continuous input to reduce manual workload within existing processes and ensure business scalability for Alpiq’s ambitions in Europe.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field;
- Ideally 3–5 years of professional experience in energy markets;
- Strong knowledge of European energy markets, with emphasis on direct marketing and power trading in Germany;
- Analytical mindset with proven experience in quantitative finance and statistics;
- Advanced programming skills in Python and proficiency in databases, SQL and Power BI;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams and counterparties;
- Fluency in English; German is a strong plus. Knowledge of French, Swedish, Norwegian, or Finnish is an advantage.
