About the Opportunity:
In order to support the growth of the Nuclear Assurance, Technology and Regulation business, we is seeking a skilled and experienced Nuclear Engineer to be based in our Bristol MoD Project Office.
As a Nuclear Engineer you will be working within an established yet growing team operating within Consultancy & Defence Integrator Solutions Business, supporting the Ministry of Defence in the Nuclear Submarine Programme.
Role Responsibilities:
- To provide authoritative advice to MoD in support of their internal governance processes;
- To act as a Subject Matter Expert in relevant technical areas, providing technical advice to MoD;
- Representing the team in internal and external project and technical meetings;
- Identifying commercial opportunities and ensuring that appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
Here's What You'll Need
- Experience within the, naval nuclear propulsion programme and detailed knowledge of naval reactor plant or the UK Submarine Enterprise;
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering discipline;
- Hold or be working towards Chartered status;
- Hold or be working towards an appropriate Project Management Qualification;
- Flexibility with the ability to travel as the demands of the role dictates;
- Working knowledge of Safety Case construct and production;
- Working knowledge of UK Regulatory systems and the organisations involved;
- Ability to work across a range of tasks and liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
This role is ideal for a confident and ambitious Engineer, several years into their career or a seasoned veteran. Flexibility is absolutely key to the role and you will have the opportunity to apply your skills in a variety of submarine related applications.
