Are you driven by purpose and passionate about building a more sustainable future? At Hovione, we are seeking a proactive and collaborative Sustainability Specialist to join our team in Portugal. This role is ideal for someone with a background in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry who thrives on connecting departments, driving sustainability initiatives, and embedding environmental responsibility into everyday operations.
Your Role
As a Sustainability Specialist, you will:
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Hovione’s Sustainability Management System.
- Lead and contribute to sustainability projects, including current initiatives such as water saving and resource efficiency.
- Build bridges between departments to ensure alignment and engagement with sustainability goals.
- Promote and ensure compliance with internal and external sustainability standards and regulations.
- Monitor and report on sustainability performance indicators, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Support internal and external audits related to sustainability and environmental compliance.
- Develop and deliver training and awareness programs to foster a culture of sustainability.
- Collaborate with vendors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in alignment with GMP, HSE, and company policies.
We are looking to recruit a Candidate
What You Bring:
- University degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Industrial Engineering, or a related scientific field (mandatory).
- Preferences: 3–5 years of experience in sustainability or environmental roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles, environmental regulations, and management systems.
- Experience in leading or supporting cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluency in English (mandatory).
- Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant digital tools.
