Advisory Associate

By joining the Stockholm advisory team, you will support clients with some of the most challenging problems in the energy sector. You will support all aspects of client engagement: helping identify issues, forming hypotheses, conducting analysis, synthesising conclusions into recommendations and presenting to key decision-makers in industry.
As part of an international and diverse team, you will work on projects and topics of high relevance to the energy transition. You will play an active role in client facing activities such as identifying clients’ needs, managing and executing projects, presenting project findings, pitching our services and answering client questions in calls and in-person workshops. The role offers autonomy, flexibility and the opportunity to develop as an energy sector expert, within an experienced and capable team.
Key Responsibilities
As an Advisory Associate in the Stockholm Office, you will:
- Manage workstreams and smaller project teams in developing timely and rigorous quantitative analyses;
- Provide insights and recommendations to help shape client’s strategic decision making;
- Engage with clients to understand their requirements and delivery project scopes;
- Work closely with our modelling and software team, structuring technoeconomic problems into quantifiable analyses and deriving insights from the model results;
- Communicate findings to clients as well as to the wider public (media, webinars etc.);
- Contribute to Aurora’s product development, by identifying new opportunities, developing new business, and expanding our capabilities.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- At least 3-4 years of experience at a consultancy, energy company, financial services company, or other knowledge-focused firm or institution;
- Strong interest in energy markets, with previous professional or academic exposure to the energy industry;
- A university degree in either:

- a quantitative subject, coupled with a keen interest in policy and economics;
- a social science, environmental studies or a related field, coupled with experience in quantitative analysis.
- An ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex quantitative data and information. Competence in advanced data analytics (e.g. Python, Advanced Excel);
- Demonstrated success in taking responsibility for project and process management in team-oriented environments;
- An ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical parties;
- Self-starting, entrepreneurial mind-set, and desire to grow the business;
- Proficiency in English is a requirement. Knowledge of another Baltic, Finnic, or Scandinavian language is a plus.
