Job Description

Your Mission: Take charge of complex energy projects. Your leadership will define strategy, execution, and client success.

As an Analyst/Consultant you will work on assignments in our energy management consulting business as a valuable team member in our market reporting, analysis and modelling practice. More specifically, your role will comprise:

  • Developing methods, tools and models for energy market analysis;
  • Supporting or leading modelling projects as well as prepare reports/presentations/proposals for our clients;
  • Researching latest energy market developments in order to undertake data analyses and modelling exercises;
  • Working on projects and developing models for the assessment of flexibility technologies and trading (Batteries, Pumped Storage, etc.).

In doing so, you will gain and strengthen your in-depth knowledge of the European Energy Industry and be at the forefront of the currently ongoing transformation, driven by climate policy discussions and further market liberalisation. You will be continuously supported and receive direct feedback from one of our experienced consultants in order to grow your very own career path. Moreover, you can further establish and continue growing your network within the Energy Industry. As a Market Modeller, you will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the energy transition by supporting private and public organisations in making challenging yet fair and sustainable investment decisions with your quantitative market modelling expertise in particular. Relevant experience of working with market models is required, while AFRY will also provide training and competence development opportunities thereon.

Qualifications

Your Profile – What We Expect

We are looking to enlarge our multi-disciplinary team with experienced professionals with real passion and curiosity for the energy transition. The ideal candidate will be or have experience as follows:

  • Graduate with a university degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Mathematics/Statistics/Econometrics, Technical Engineering, or other related fields;
  • Experience with and demonstrable knowledge of Python programming, with an additional benefit is also fluent in database related software like MS SQL;
  • Solid knowledge of statistical methods and modelling as well as the skillset to quantitatively work with numbers and utilise fundamental market models to draw insights as well as perform standard and bespoke modelling tasks and also communicate them in an effective way;
  • Self-initiative, focus on the goal with an eye on the consequences and a readiness to proactively support;
  • Advanced written and oral communication/presentation skills English (mandatory);
  • Additional language skills advantageous, especially Romanian, Polish, Bulgarian, German or proficiency in a language spoken in the Balkan region would be an asset;
  • Very good command of the MS office package, in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
