The Environmental Supervisor will be responsible for managing environmental compliance and permitting activities across large‑scale energy and infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, and project environmental objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
Your Role Will Encompass:
- Lead the development, coordination, and submission of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and associated environmental studies in line with project and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure environmental compliance across all project phases, including permitting, licensing, and adherence to local and international environmental regulations.
- Manage and coordinate the environmental permitting process, including engagement with regulatory authorities and preparation of required documentation.
- Conduct site inspections and environmental audits to monitor compliance and identify risks or areas for improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact with public authorities, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders on environmental matters.
- Provide environmental guidance and technical support to project teams, ensuring environmental requirements are integrated into design and construction activities.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance, ensuring timely implementation of mitigation measures and corrective actions.
- Ensure alignment with project environmental management plans and sustainability objectives, particularly within HVDC and high‑voltage infrastructure projects.
- Maintain awareness of applicable environmental legislation, standards, and best practices, supporting continuous compliance and improvement.
- Promote environmental awareness and a strong sustainability culture across project teams and stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline. A Master’s degree will be considered an asset.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in environmental management, permitting, and regulatory compliance within large‑scale infrastructure or energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and permitting processes.
- Experience with Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), environmental management plans, and monitoring programmes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and public authorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant environmental or GIS tools.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Availability to travel and work across project locations, as required.
