The Role

As Analyst, you are the engine for origination, underwriting and portfolio analytics, supporting transaction execution and fundraising activities to expand the Aquila Capital platform. You will evaluate companies, build models, draft IC materials, maintain portfolio dashboards, and support a rigorous fundraising and investment process. You´ll be an instrumental part of Aquila Capital´s investment management team.

Your responsibilities

  • Evaluating, underwriting and modelling: build and maintain deal models, liquidity analysis, covenant headroom testing, and warrant economics sensitivities and stress tests.
  • Conduct market and industry research to assess and benchmark potential investment opportunities and continuously monitor broader market trends.
  • Prepare investment memoranda and presentation materials to support investment recommendations and diligence tracking including market and company deep-dives, and investment summaries.
  • Actively work with internal and external departments to ensure successful due diligence & investment execution.
  • Portfolio analytics: support ongoing monitoring by maintaining KPI dashboards, covenant calendars, and variance analyses.
  • Fundraising support: maintain content and keep the fundraising data room organized, complete, and up-to-date to facilitate LP review and comparisons.
  • Reporting support: assist in reporting packs for portfolio overviews, private debt investment detail, KPI roll-ups, and inputs for IR and fund ops teams.
  • Process discipline: ensure accurate documentation trails, clean workpapers, and consistent figures across all investor and internal materials.

Your qualifications

  • 1-4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, private credit, or venture lending.
  • University degree in finance, economics, business or a related field or MBA. Additional qualifications (CFA, CA) highly appreciated.
  • Strong financial modelling skills, comfort with scenario analysis and liquidity and runway frameworks used for venture-backed businesses.
  • Strong understanding of finance and investment principles, including financial modelling and valuation techniques.
  • Excellent written output quality (IC-ready and LP-ready), with strong attention to detail and consistency across materials.
  • Strong knowledge using AI tools to boost productivity (e.g., Claude, Perplexity, Gamma, etc.).
  • High ownership mindset, strong prioritization skills, and ability to operate in a lean team with shared platform interfaces.
  • Fluency in German and English, additional European language skills are a plus for pan-European coverage.
