Manager EV Charging & Project Development

Manager EV Charging & Project Development

MB Energy

Hamburg, Germany

Here’s what you can look forward to:

As Manager (m/f/d) EV Charging & Project Development, you are responsible for shaping and executing our EV charging business for Commercial Road Transport (CRT). Your primary focus lies on truck charging infrastructure, charging parks (CPO), and depot solutions for fleet customers.

You shape how our CRT business enters the EV charging market. Your work combines three strands: strategy and business model design, hands-on project development, and M&A and partnerships across the charging ecosystem.

Beyond EV charging, you contribute to the development of our broader multi-energy offering, including hydrogen, LNG, and HVO, and support the integration of new energy solutions into the MB Energy Card platform.

Your tasks in a nutshell:

  • Shape strategy: You develop and advance CRT´s-EV charging strategy, including market analysis, business model design, and competitive positioning (CPO vs. own operations vs. white-label);
  • Drive project development: You lead the development of new charging sites (greenfield) and the expansion of existing CRT locations (brownfield), covering feasibility, grid connection, permitting, and construction oversight;
  • Lead M&A & partnerships: You actively screen and evaluate New Energy targets, support deal execution, and build strategic partnerships across the EV charging and broader energy ecosystem;
  • Expand energy portfolio: You monitor regulatory developments (e.g. AFIR, RED III) and support the integration of alternative fuels such as hydrogen, LNG, and HVO into our product offering;
  • Ensure integration: You act as a key interface to internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of EV charging solutions into the MB Energy Card platform.

What helps you to fulfil this role:

  • Educational background: A degree in engineering, business administration, IT, marketing, or a related field;
  • Professional experience: At least 2 years of experience in project development, business development, or consulting within energy, mobility, or infrastructure;
  • Industry knowledge: Strong understanding of the EV charging ecosystem; experience with hydrogen or alternative fuels is a plus;
  • Language skills: Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage.

With these characteristics, you fit perfectly with us:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset: You challenge the status quo, think creatively, and enjoy shaping new business areas;
  • Hands-on mentality: You combine strategic thinking with practical execution – from presentations to on-site implementation;
  • Ownership & drive: You take responsibility, work independently, and push topics forward proactively;
  • Collaboration skills: You navigate complex stakeholder environments and build strong working relationships across teams.
