Act as the Carbon Market Information Base for E.ON, ensuring consistency and transparency in key assumptions, inputs, and outputs across business units.
Develop and maintain the “E.ON View” on carbon market fundamentals (EUA/UKA supply-demand balance, policy developments, abatement cost curves, etc.).
Provide robust input to and help maintain fundamental modelling frameworks (e.g., long-term carbon price models, marginal abatement models, market balance projections).
Monitor key developments in EU ETS (ETS 1, ETS 2, GoOs), UK ETS, CBAM, and other regulatory or compliance schemes and assess their impact on trading strategies and compliance outlooks.
Deliver scenario-based analysis and market insights to support trading desks, risk teams, strategic planning, and investment assessments in particular with Green Desk .
Collaborate closely with power, gas, and macroeconomic analysts to ensure carbon dynamics are fully integrated into commodity outlooks and strategies.
Track auction dynamics, hedging behaviours, industrial demand, and regulatory drivers impacting carbon price formation and volatility.
Produce regular internal updates and stakeholder briefings, translating technical insights into actionable commercial implications.
Contribute to the evolution of E.ON’s decarbonization strategy through strong analytical support and structured carbon market insights.
Your profile
4–5 years of experience in carbon markets, emissions trading, energy policy, or commodity analysis—within a utility, trading house, consultancy, or financial institution.
Solid understanding of European carbon market mechanisms (EU ETS, UK ETS, CBAM), supply-demand modelling, and regulatory outlooks.
Familiarity with energy market fundamentals (power, gas) and how carbon interacts with cross-commodity pricing and hedging strategies.
Experience working with fundamental modelling tools or scenario analysis frameworks; proficiency in Excel is essential; coding (Python, R) is a plus.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical carbon market insights to both commercial and strategic stakeholders.
Team player with a collaborative mindset and strong attention to detail; comfortable working across disciplines and organizational boundaries.
Proactive, self-motivated, and curious about the role of carbon pricing in energy transition and net-zero strategies.
Eagerness to grow by collaborating across E.ON’s international operations.
Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional European languages are a plus.
