Environmental Sustainability is an evolving space, with increasing market and regulatory requirements for data-driven action and reporting. In this role, you will build and manage sustainability data collection, analysis and reporting to support global environmental sustainability reporting and decision-making, with an emphasis on life cycle assessment (LCA), product carbon footprint (PCF), supplier engagement, scalable digital solutions, and general environmental sustainability program growth.
This role will help ensure continued compliance with environmental sustainability regulations and alignment with market needs, while maintaining the accuracy, traceability, and usability of sustainability data across the enterprise and the value chain.
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will:
Perform and interpret life cycle assessments (LCA) and product carbon foot printing, including defining system boundaries, collecting inventory data, running models, and translating results into actionable insights.
Analyze existing LCA methodologies for compliance with international standards (e.g., ISO 14040/14044) and country-specific regulations.
Collect sustainability data across sites and functions (e.g., energy, water, waste, materials, compliance), including defining data requirements, templates, and governance to ensure data quality, completeness, and auditability.
Work together with our Information Systems SME`s to develop, maintain, and automate sustainability datasets and workflows using programming and analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL), improving efficiency and reducing manual effort.
Create and maintain dashboards, metrics, and reporting packs (e.g., Power BI/Tableau/Excel) to support internal decision-making and external disclosures and customer requests
Support environmental/climate risk assessment tools and workflows (e.g., data inputs, methodology documentation, scenario assumptions), ensuring traceable calculations and readiness for internal review and external assurance.
Engage suppliers and procurement partners to collect primary sustainability data and improve data transparency for product-level reporting.
Implement data validation, controls, and documentation to support internal review and external assurance; investigate anomalies and drive corrective actions with data owners.
Support environmental sustainability compliance project management (e.g., regulatory readiness assessments, data-gap closure, audit/assurance support), including scope, timeline, stakeholder alignment, and delivery tracking.
Scan the external landscape (regulations, standards, customer requirements, and market trends) to identify emerging environmental sustainability needs; recommend and optimize roadmaps, metrics, and data strategies to support market expectations
Represent Amgen as the subject matter expert, participate in external forums and working groups
Assist in the development of new environmental sustainability program elements and initiatives.
