ABOUT THE TEAM & ROLE

You will join a leading Renewable Natural Gas Trading desk, covering Biomethane, Bio-LNG and various other compliance products globally, that is constantly re-inventing itself and pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a best-in-class environmental commodity trader. In this role, you will support our growth journey by framing, shaping and owning execution of strategic business building dossiers and priority (complex) commercial opportunities, in the midst of a rapidly developing and growing (global) biomethane market. You will report directly to and work closely with senior leadership, whilst collaborating across functions like Commercial, Business development, Trading and portfolio management and Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shape and execute strategy for commercial business building initiatives, e.g. geographic/product scope expansion, new end-customer groups, technology platforms, cross-desk collaboration initiatives;
  • Coordinate and support on (complex) high-priority commercial opportunities, e.g. (global) business/investment case development, due diligence, financial modelling;
  • Own cross-desk/function (STX-wide) projects and initiatives to improve efficiency;
  • Prepare and shape strategic initiative and C-level reporting cycle, e.g. annual strategy cycle, monthly recurring governance meetings.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 – 4+ years of experience in a strategy (consulting), origination or business development, investment or chief of staff type role;
  • Strong expertise in shaping strategy/business plans, framing up and owning business cases (i.e. business development in the broadest sense), supporting senior management decision making, project management;
  • Familiarity with commodity trading, (renewable) energy markets and/or sustainability topics; ideally in RNG/broader fuels compliance space is preferred;
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-moving and ambiguous environments;
  • Able to manage (various) projects independently and manage complex multi-stakeholder, internal and external, landscapes;
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
