This role spans several dimensions.

You'll be stronger in some than others, but you should have the appetite and the capability to lead across all of them:

  • Performing detailed calculations for greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental metrics, ensuring robustness and consistency.
  • Preparing high-quality technical reports, drawing on expertise from across the wider team and the broader organisation.
  • Writing proposals for new business, in collaboration with the existing team.
  • Be independent in engaging with a wide variety of clients, often in senior roles within their business.
  • Attending and, where appropriate, leading client meetings to support project delivery and business development.
  • Managing multiple projects and workstreams independently, delivering to tight deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Continuously developing technical expertise, supported by senior colleagues, while mentoring and guiding junior team members, including providing training and support where needed.

Key Requirements: Skills, Knowledge, Location & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental science or business-related disciplines (e.g. economics, finance), ideally with a focus on sustainability or climate.
  • Ideally 5+ years of relevant professional experience in climate, ESG, or sustainability consulting.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. modelling, large datasets); experience with other analytics and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is beneficial.
  • Experience with GHG accounting methodologies and frameworks (e.g. PCAF, GHG Protocol, SBTi, ISO), including PCF.
  • Strong understanding of key frameworks and regulations (e.g., GHG protocol, SBTi).
  • Good understanding of value chains and Scope 3 emissions.
  • Strong communication and consulting skills; particularly an understanding of the sustainability challenges that organisations face in today’s climate.
  • Excellent project management skills: ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and to client expectations.
  • Team player with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
  • Language capabilities: Fluency in German and English (both written and verbal) is strictly required for client delivery.
  • Additional language capabilities are preferred to support global and regional engagements.
  • Eligibility to work:
    • Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the country of employment.
    • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
