Are you concerned by transport’s climate impact and continued reliance on fossil fuels? Transport & Environment (T&E) is looking for a talented and dynamic policy analyst to join the team to work on addressing aviation’s full climate impact. The programme is part of a wider strategy to end transport’s reliance on kerosene in aviation, ensuring that non-CO2 effects such as contrails are tackled together with aviation’s overall carbon footprint, and promoting policies to deploy the right technologies to minimise the environmental impact of the sector.
Aviation is a challenging sector to decarbonise. We need a policy officer to support linking our technical and political work at the EU and national level to support reducing and or avoiding aviation’s non-CO2 effects such as contrail formation, as well as promoting zero emission technologies. We need convincing and compelling economic, political and legal analysis, reports and presentations to convert complex information into advocacy and media friendly material. Finally, we need to convince European lawmakers to set ambitious but achievable goals to drive the sector from being the fastest growing climate problem to one of sustainability.
This position is advertised as a permanent, full-time position based in Brussels. While we offer a flexible working environment, there is an expectation that there are at least two days per week spent in the office.
The start date would be as soon as possible.
The salary package depends on location and experience. We are an equal opportunities employer and offer competitive salary and benefits.
The deadline for applications is 24th of September.
