As our Key Account Manager Low Carbon Solutions at VARO Energy Germany, you are a dynamic and results-driven sales professional with a proven record of accomplishment in delivering multi-facetted, innovative customer solutions. Your focus will be on the decarbonisation of our customer’s industrial processes and/or logistics. As our customers in Germany want to contribute to a world of low carbon emissions, they are clear on the mission but not necessarily on the pathway to reach those ambitions. Your focus is to help our partners achieve their energy transition goals. You are accountable to understand their requirements in order to offer them actionable solutions in their journey to defossilise. By delivering a successful implementation of these Customer Lighthouses, you establish VARO as the Energy Transition Partner of Choice. In order to accomplish such industry-leading solutions, you have a toolbox of modular concepts from our 5 renewable pillars that you can apply to these customer segments. On our way through the energy transition, you can build up your own ideas and implement your experience to enrich our wholesale activities. Working together and pioneering in multi-disciplinary teams excites you. Delivering such concepts will require a project-based approach, whereby you ensure multiple stakeholders are aligned and contribute to you executing our Customer Value Proposition successfully.

You report to the Commercial Director Germany. Important internal stakeholders are our VP Customer Value Proposition, the Commercial Director Renewable Energies, the other Commercial leads within Supply & Trading and Wholesale and the 5 Pillar Heads, each leading one of our renewable business units.   • Identify and target existing industrial and/or logistic customers next to originating new accounts;
  • Understand the customers' needs and roll out scalable solutions to meet their requirements with a special focus on their energy transition targets;
  • Offer our customers a tangible and executable roadmap in their energy transition;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful design and execution of projects and innovative customer offers;
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships;
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and Customer Value Propositions;
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals to secure sales;
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitors' activities;
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management;
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue goals.


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economic sciences, or a related field (MBA is a plus);
  • Proven record of accomplishment (7+ years) in sales, with a focus on project-based accounts;
  • Preferably a first-hand experience with industrial or logistical processes, products and solutions;
  • A solid understanding of the key drivers in the energy transition and decarbonisation pathways;
  • Result-oriented and demonstrated ability to negotiate, close deals, meet or exceed business targets;
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, ability to build rapport, and establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and partners;
  • Communication skills: outstanding verbal and written communication skills to deliver persuasive presentations and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders in an international environment;
  • Language skills: excellent mastery of the German language and fluid in English (spoken and written);
  • Willing to travel extensively within Germany and beyond (up to 50%).
