Business Development Lead - Digital Climate Solutions, FraBeLux

Job summary

The transformation to a net-zero emissions economy requires private companies to set ambitious climate targets and engage in bold climate action. The purpose of this role is to create environmental impact and drive the digital business in France, Belgium and Luxembourg (referred to as FraBeLux region).

Together with the Global Sales Lead, you will oversee, monitor, report and guide the commercial activities for South Pole’s Digital Climate Solutions, and grow South Pole’s business in the region. You will work in close alignment with the regional Key Account Management and Business Development (KAM/BD) team, the Marketing Team, the Customer Success team and supporting functions, ensuring performance in line with global strategy.

Main tasks & responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the Digital Climate Solutions’ strategy in FraBeLux;
  • Develop the regional go-to-market strategy;
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to define customer segments, develop target lists and run campaigns;
  • Create new business opportunities to grow South Pole’s business in FraBeLux;
  • Share best practices with other regions;
  • Identify market trends, client needs and new business opportunities and inform the relevant stakeholders within the organisation;
  • Represent South Pole in client meetings, at conferences and remotely;
  • Conclude commercial agreements with clients and partners;
  • Develop compelling offers and proposals together with the KAM/BD team and our product experts.

Requirements

Essential

  • University degree in Environmental Sciences, Business or other relevant discipline;
  • Several years proven business development and consultative selling experience in the digital field. Working experience in sustainability, or at least strong understanding of the most important drivers for corporate climate action, is a plus;
  • Track record in meeting and exceeding sales targets;
  • Strong drive for results, action-oriented, with self-direction and sense of urgency;
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and think out of the box;
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills with strong business and commercial acumen;
  • Ability to successfully navigate complexity and effectively deal with ambiguity;
  • Structured way of thinking and working, and ability to prioritise tasks;
  • Excellent French and English skills. Dutch is a plus;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Solution-oriented and creative mindset;
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills to build relationships and partner effectively with both clients as well as internal stakeholders;
  • Advanced analytical skills and advanced command of Excel/Google Sheet.

Desirable

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, sense of responsibility and willingness to take initiative;
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced international environment;
  • Experience using CRM software (Salesforce preferable);
  • Advanced skills in G-Suite applications.
