Our Europe Team supports ambitious efforts to mitigate climate change through appliance and equipment energy efficiency in the European Union and the United Kingdom. We work in partnership with policymakers and other key industry and civil society stakeholders in both regions. We provide world-class technical and policy advisory services directly to governments to develop and implement the most ambitious and cost-effective appliance efficiency policies and we accelerate the development of energy-efficient product markets through minimum energy performance standards, informative product labeling, and identification and promotion of the most efficient appliances.
In our day-to-day, we work remotely with our team members in the UK, Belgium and Italy. We track and participate in EU and UK policy processes; test products for efficiency and develop world leading test methodologies; prepare and present evidence-based policy analysis and recommendations for the European Commission, national governments, and civil society; and drive innovative and impactful research projects and campaigns to inform policies that impact the people and the planet.
CLASP is seeking a creative, seasoned professional to lead communications for our portfolio of European programs. CLASP Europe works alongside policymakers and partners to promote the most efficient appliances while also eliminating equipment that is hazardous to human health and the environment. CLASP advises and collaborates with the European Commission and member states, UK government, environmental and civil society NGOs, and industry partners to advance better appliances for people and the planet.

This position will report to the Climate Communications Manager, who is currently based in the United States.
This is a full-time position based in the UK or Belgium. Although the Europe team operates remotely, regular meetings in Brussels and London are expected. Travel within Europe is expected quarterly for Europe Team meetups, strategy sessions, and team building. Occasional international travel outside of Europe is expected 1-2 times per year. The Senior Associate will have access to a co-working space if they prefer to work in an office environment.
