Business Development Manager - ESG & Climate Solutions

Satellite Vu is looking for a Business Development (BD) Manager who will lead the go to market strategy for our ESG and Climate Solutions. The BD Manager will report to the CCO, leading engagement with potential customers and partners to understand, measure and validate demand; work closely with the product and insights teams to develop a product roadmap that will meet customer demand; and build and close a strong and diverse sales pipeline that will drive sustainable revenue growth.

This role requires an individual who can bring the customer perspective to product and strategy decisions as well as developing and executing a sales plan to deliver consistent revenue growth. For the right candidate, this is a fantastic opportunity to shape and take a disruptive new category of ESG data to market and make a significant personal impact.

There may be a requirement to travel at times, up to a week at a time, with enough notice given. Maximum travel requirement up to 50% of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expand Satellite Vu's commercial relationships with institutional investors, financial data and analytics companies, and investment consultants;
  • Partner with product teams to define, shape and position new product offerings aligned with market demand and needs. Bring the voice of the customer from extensive market interactions and provide structured customer feedback to inform the Product roadmap;
  • Lead the efforts to identify, qualify and engage ESG/Climate solutions prospects across the financial markets ecosystem;
  • Develop a sales strategy to drive new business and identify scalable market opportunities for the ESG/Climate Solutions business;
  • Lead one-to-one meetings with Chief Investment Officers, ESG investment leaders, Risk Managers and other decision makers targeting the institutional investor ecosystem;
  • Disciplined use of CRM to develop and maintain a database of potential and existing clients and sales opportunities;
  • Close new business and deliver revenues to meet or exceed sales goals.

Requirements

  • Experience in selling ESG data or Climate Solutions in the financial markets ecosystem or as an ESG investor or analyst;
  • Track record of successful engagement and revenue generation with customers across the financial markets ecosystem: asset managers and owners, banks, consultants, large corporates;
  • Expertise and understanding of ESG investing and how industry players use ESG data to drive business decisions to address regulatory requirements, meet investor demand, and mitigate portfolio risk;
  • Ability to generate new business opportunities by thoroughly understanding Satellite Vu's unique data insights to develop ESG product offerings;
  • Demonstrable consultative selling skills: ability to engage with client decision makers, understand and value their challenges and motivations and position Satellite Vu's solutions;
  • Capable, articulate, personable and energetic with strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Team player with ability to work successfully within immediate team and the broader products and services team globally;
  • Comfortable and convincing when working with senior management and executives, both externally and internally;
  • A passion to make a difference around climate mitigation and alignment with our values;
