We are seeking a dynamic and result-driven individual to join our fast-growing software and renewable energy start-up as Head of Sales - Global, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding our market presence in the renewable energy domain. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of operations and maintenance in the renewable energy sector and a proven track record of sales success. Your role will encompass the freedom to form the sales department from scratch.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Develop and Execute Sales Strategy: Formulate a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives, focusing on market penetration, customer acquisition, and revenue generation within the renewable energy sector;
- Sales Team Leadership: Build, manage, and motivate a high-performing sales team by setting clear performance goals, providing mentorship, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration;
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify business opportunities, emerging trends, and potential challenges;
- Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders within the renewable energy industry. Ensure customer satisfaction and retention by providing exceptional service and understanding their evolving needs;
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Oversee sales forecasting activities, monitor sales performance metrics. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and optimize sales strategies;
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and joint ventures to expand the company's market share and drive revenue growth;
- Sales Process Optimization: Continuously improve the sales process by implementing best practices, streamlining workflows, and leveraging technology to increase efficiency and effectiveness;
- Sales Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for the sales team to enhance their skills, product knowledge, and industry expertise;
- Budget Management: Collaborate with the finance team to set and manage the sales budget, ensuring the effective allocation of resources to achieve sales targets.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field;
- Proven track record of at least 5 years of successful sales experience in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on selling innovative solutions and technologies and willing to setup sales department and build team in a startup environment;
- Proven track record preferably in PV or solar energy domain and experience in operations and maintenance;
- Know how of CRM tools preferably HubSpot;
- Excellent understanding of the renewable energy market landscape, including key players, trends, and regulatory environment;
- Passion for sustainability and a commitment to drive positive environmental impact through renewable energy solutions;
- Willingness to stay close to customers through frequent travels.
IT IS A PLUS IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH
- MBA or relevant advanced degree.
