Description

Rystad Energy is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Sales & Marketing Team as a Business Development Manager to support our fast-growing research and consulting practice within the Supply Chain space in Europe. The successful candidate must have exceptional new business generation skills with experience in solution selling and a background in or selling to this market. As part of the sales team, the success candidate can expect the support from our global client-facing research analysts and product specialists.

The supply chain segments of the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Oil and Gas, Solar, Wind, Battery, Carbon Capture, Hydrogen industries will be the main client segments touched by this role. Within these segments, the strategy, business development and procurement departments will be worked with most frequently by the successful candidate in order to better assist their general workflows.

Strong negotiation skills, knowledge of the European and Global energy industry, experience in selling services, a consultative selling approach, ability to quickly and effectively establish a presence in both established as well as new markets, product demonstrations and excellent networking skills are sought.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute sales and pipeline strategy to supply chain companies in European region;
  • Present the company, our research and services in person and online at meetings, industry events and social media;
  • Achieve and surpass growth targets defined for the covered sector;
  • Understand the core needs of each client type and build an effective value proposition;
  • Communicate internally with the research department, sales colleagues and management on activity and results as well as provide feedback and suggestions on product enhancement and new product ideas;
  • Design and implement an outreach program in connection with our Marketing team;
  • Manage interactions through the Company’s CRM system;
  • Ensure new clients are on-boarded properly.

Skills & Attributes for Success

  • A Bachelor’s degree, Masters desirable;
  • Minimum 2 years sales experience in new client acquisition in the energy space - note this can also become a more senior position where appropriate;
  • Experience selling and dealing with C-Suites;
  • Knowledge and genuine interest in the energy industry;
  • Building value propositions for our research based upon specific departments and their workflows;
  • Highly organized and efficient at managing day to day business with multiple priorities;
  • Goal oriented self-starter that can work independently, as part of a team and pull in resources as required;
  • The ability to quickly and effectively build new networks, or ideally have an existing strong network already;
  • English language skills are imperative. Additional languages would be an advantage;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Mature, experience, confident & self-motivated with a passion for selling & general leadership;
  • A quick learner on new products and sales approaches;
  • Familiar with standard Office tools and CRM systems.
