As the Commercial Biomass Manager, you will spearhead developing and implementing strategic business plans. This entails a comprehensive analysis of market dynamics, identification of commercial opportunities, and the assessment of the potential impact of reducing CO2 emissions.

Your responsibilities include translating these insights into deliverables and realistic goals and demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit along the way. As a key member of our Business Innovation division, you will report directly to Bart Hellings, Head of Business Innovation. The role of Commercial Biomass Managers offers flexibility with the option to work in Amsterdam or Rotterdam. We encourage you to bring your strategic thinking, relationship management skills, analytical mindset, and commercial expertise to drive success in this role. Your responsibilities as a Commercial Biomass Manager:

• Developing pipeline of commercial leads and strong customer relations;
• Generate actionable insights for optimized hedging and/or trading strategies;
• Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with both customers and suppliers;
• Organizing and coordinating product quality control in close collaboration with Marketing and Regulatory to ensure product quality control within the division;
• Organizing and coordinating processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
• Mapping potential risks in terms of differences in purchase and sale prices. Managing risk hedging;
• Ensuring the correct and complete documentation of work processes and significant decision-making.

• You are an expert within Biomass and can add meaning to the information, which you bring knowledge to our organization;
• You are social and able to build networks and keep maintaining the relationships (internally and externally);
• You can perform within certain timetables/deadlines and see opportunities instead of obstacles;
• You are independent in seeing opportunities and possibilities within the market and acting on them;
• You like to take on a challenge and know how to create support within and outside the organization.

As our new Frontrunner you bring:

• Minimum of 5 years in a similar role within the Biomass market and a Master’s degree;
• You have a relevant network and experience in the biomass (international) sector;
• A proven track record in commercial roles, operations and strategy;
• A strong background in sustainability and a passion for creating a better world;
• Commercial and entrepreneur mindset with strong analytical capabilities and independent views on markets;
• The ability to set up business cases and build mathematical models;
• Available at least 32 hours per week and living in The Netherlands.
