Under the supervision and coordination of Head of BSEMIA Environment leader she/he will:

  • contribute to the BSEMIA Environmental journey, keeping compliance as a foundation while enhancing environmental performances and transforming our activities towards the co-creation of a more sustainable society with all the stakeholders in our value chain
  • operate in various business environment (R&D, logistic, manufacturing, Retail) and geographical Regions, needs to be agile and open to cooperation with Teammates with different culture and background
  • travel across EMIA Region to perform internal audits based on various compliance schemes or ISO14001 standard; needs to quickly understand the work environment, the different typologies of environmental risks and the maturity of the environmental culture in place, in order to leverage on different techniques and tools to promote environment
  • promote the digitalization of the current activities

Main Accountabilities:

  • Assure environmental compliance and prevent environmental incidents in Mfg.Plants/retails/logistic, also throughout on site audit or self assessment, supporting the proper deployment and implementation of Global/Regional Bridgestone Environmental Policy and Standards
  • Support sites in understanding impact and compliance vs main European Environmental Regulation/Directives and ISO 14001 principles
  • Enhance Environmental performances by investigating and sharing best practices, supporting Plant/retails/logistic in setting consistent MTP target, monitoring performances and assuring root cause analysis in case of deviations from targets
  • Develop new indicators (lagging and leading) to measure and predict Environmental performances across different type of biz
  • Periodical reporting of BSEMIA environmental result, both internally to the Management of the Region and to Global Business Supporting function based in Japan
  • Support BSEMIA contribution to Global Environmental Working Group activity and Regional Sustainability Committee
  • Support and accelerate the digitalization of processes and reporting through the QEHS Digital platform, assuring the proper implementation by sites and supporting them as needed
  • Support the chemical expert teams in the management of chemicals vs. Regulation/OEM environmental requirement on product and mobility solutions
  • Contribute to the process of benchmarking of environmental performances and directions of main competitors and best-in-class Industries
  • Scout the ecosystem to identify partnership and innovation initiatives to increase efficiency/effectiveness in promoting environmental culture across our biz and external stakeholders
  • Support the team and sites in reporting CO2 emissions according to Company and International Standards (e.g. GHG)

Educational/Professional Background:

  • University degree in technical and scientific studies concerning environment, energy and chemistry (such as environmental engineering, chemistry engineering, environmental science, environmental engineering, etc.)
  • Minimum 3-5 experience in international Manufacturing Company dealing with Environmental aspects (compliance and performances)
  • Knowledge of tyre industry is a plus

Requested Technical skills:

  • Command of main Environmental European Regulations and Directive (e.g. ETS ,IED ,”Seveso” ,ADR, End of Life Vehicle Directive, REACH and CLP)
  • Command of ISO14001/ISO50001
  • Proven experience in performing Environmental Audits
  • Proven experience in preparing Environmental procedures/standards
  • Experience in setting tagets, monitoring KPIs evolution, reporting
  • Experience in CO2 reporting, knowledge of GHG Protocol, OEF, SBTi
  • Experience in KPI and Digital Environmental Platforms (for management of incidents, audits, permits,..)
