About the Opportunity

Jacobs is committed to playing a leadership role in Global Energy Transition. Our UK and Continental Europe team is growing and we’re looking for a Project Manager Wind (Pre-Construction) to help lead Jacobs to success. You will play a leading role in the design of major offshore and onshore wind farms for the full asset lifecycle from project conception to construction.

You will be accountable for the following tasks including but not limited to:

  • Support our Sales and Growth teams to develop relationships with existing customers in the sector, identify new opportunities and build relationships with new clients;
  • Support our Global Offshore Wind and Sales and Growth teams to develop growth strategies in Region and Globally;
  • Represent Jacobs in opening discussions on project and programme management aspects of our delivery;
  • Develop and support bids for Jacobs;
  • Develop and support bids for contractors and OEMs;
  • Lead teams to produce clear and concise consultancy and technical reports;
  • Carry out project management duties for these projects including programme management, cost control, contractor management, risk management, reporting, stakeholder management and client interface management;
  • You will ensure all outputs are compliant with our quality, project control, safety and governance procedures.

Here's What You'll Need

Qualifications:

  • Experience of delivering offshore and/or onshore Wind project development for large owners, developers and contractors;
  • Experience of managing large offshore and/or onshore wind projects from early conception, through consents and tendering for construction;
  • Experience of developing and managing bids for clients and contractors;
  • Have strong relationships with client organisations and your technical counterparts in client organisations;
  • Experience of managing a team;
  • A Degree in Engineering;
  • Experience having excellent technical and practical engineering skills and able to consistently deliver on quality and schedule;
  • Working knowledge of offshore structural engineering, including marine environments and hydrodynamic loads, both at temporary and operational stages;
  • An understanding of the different foundation typologies for both bottom-fixed and floating, as well as the drivers for option selection;
  • Awareness of the interfaces between turbine and foundation/platform, including key understanding of load iteration and integrated load analysis for offshore wind;
  • Knowledge of the relevant Offshore Wind design codes and certification requirements, from DNV, IEC, ABS and other international standards;
  • Knowledge of offshore structural analysis;
  • Familiarity with basic naval concepts.
